Dave's portraits expose his deep rooted passion for classic rock, and in particular, world-class guitar players. Dave's background in engineering provides a backdrop for his signage work. 

"I credit the countless hours I spent at the drafting board in college with giving me the foundation for the work I'm producing today. Back in the 80's, nearly all engineering drawings were done by hand and I worked as a draftsman during summer breaks. That gave me a pretty good sense of scale, perspective, how fonts are structured and relate to one another.  I try to apply those principles to my artwork now.  Whether it's a sign with a very structured format or a portrait of someone playing guitar, scale and proportion are the things that make the piece work."

"My artwork has become my therapy for relaxation. It helps my mind break away from the demands of the day and forces me to stop and appreciate my life and especially my family. I prefer doing my artwork right at at the kitchen table so I can enjoy the company of others and share the process, not just the result"
